Our Journey

Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya is a part of the Samoon Foundation, a registered NGO under the Indian Societies Registration Act – 1860. The foundation has a vision to build a nation free from hunger, poverty, illiteracy, and inequality. Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya was one of the dream projects of the foundation, aiming to provide basic education to children residing in the interior Himalayas.

In the year 2021, this dream came true with the establishment of our first primary Hindi medium school in Osla, a remote village in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand state. In Osla and nearby villages, there were more than 250 children who were earlier deprived of their basic education due to the absence of schools in that area. With the commencement of Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya, today, children in these interior areas can receive their primary education. The school blends the best educational practices, driven by committed and truly modern educational concepts.

We always aim to nurture the extraordinary ability of every child in our school so that they become competent in academics and other co-curricular activities. We highly emphasize providing well-structured and effective learning that helps build our children’s character based on discipline, self-reliance, and integrity.

Currently, we are serving in Osla village but aspire to provide basic education to children living in other interior areas of Uttarakhand as well, for which we are constantly working.
